Pengemis yang vogue

As I was going out this morning, tetiba je appeared seorang aci dengan anak lelaki (primary school age). As expected, dia nak mintak sedekah. Katanya, "Saya susah kakak"......bla bla bla. Tak kuasa nak dengar. I'm heartless? Well...hold on to your horses....cerita belum habis... The littla boy was holding his mother's handbag (assuming they're mother and son!). Both are well groomed...putih bedak muka kedua-duanya! Aci tu ikut menuju kereta. I told her, seeing that she's rather healthy and "well fed", "kalau cakap nak kerja untuk dapatkan duit tak pe juge". Aci tu continued her sad story. As I got into my car I told her off..."rambut tu boleh dye...nak mintak sedekah?"...rambut die ada shades of brunette tu!! She mumbled her excuse and walked off. Later on as I was driving home, I noticed the aci and her son walking along the road and this time she's holding a plastic bag with a few things in it. I pulled over to observe what she's gonna do. True enough she entered someone's compound.....the gate was slightly ajar. I drove off home. I waited for the two to pass by. Soon after I saw them approaching. I told her that I'm going to call the police since I saw her entering someone else's compound. Cepat-cepat die kate dia nak balik.....aik? She lives nearby? Seriously?

Pagi yang Cemas!

Tetiba tersedar dari tido. Perasan gelap. Sape pulak la yang tutup lampu? Lepas tu baru sedar kipas pun dah tak berpusing. Oooo....blackout agaknya.

Eh....tapi lampu water heater menyala. Oookaay....intai pulak lampu plug TV....pun menyala. Baring semula sebab masih keliru. Mak ai!...panas...berkuap!

Bangun semula...intai rumah sebelah. Eh...ada lampu pulak. Rumah belakang?....pun ada lampu. Perasaan mula cemas! Ambil telefon dial husband. Tak angkat!

Baring semula. Tak boleh nak tidor sebab panas dan cemas. Pasang telinga. Tak dengar pulak bunyi ada orang kat dalam rumah. Perut dah mula meragam.

My eyes were accustomed to the dark. Lagi pun lampu dari rumah jiran sebelah agak terang. So I made my way to the toilet. I felt fresher after washing up with the cool water.

Out of the toilet I grabbed my tudung and car key. I oppened the front door and tried to call husband again. Still no reply. The air outside felt much cooler than indoor. I decided to wait in the car while waiting for dear hubby to come home.

I got into the car and tried to call hubby again. Still no reply. I couldn't very well call the neighbours or friends. It's still just after 3 a.m.! Everyone's sleeping soundly in their comfortable beds...

I tried to call dear hubby several times....and dozed off in between calls. Finally he called back at about a quarter to five! I dozed off again and was awakened by a knock on the door....phew!!! dear hubby has arrived...and it was then already a quarter past six!

Dear hubby helped me out of the car and I wobbled into the house. The lights are back. Hooray!!!

So, straight into the bathroom I went to get ready for work. I managed to get to work on time, though a bit dazed.

I'll be stopping by the store on the way back afterwards to get an emergency light!!

Why Blog?

I started blogging about three years ago. The main purpose was to voice out my thoughts or to jot down whatever useful tips/info that I got from various sources. Blogging to me is like keeping a journal, a personal journal which I'm also sharing with others. It has never been my intention to promote this blog. If anyone should stumble upon it and finds it interesting or useful, I'm happy for you. If anyone should think that this blog is "syok sendiri", that's fine by me too. Whatever your views might be, my conscience is clear.

Anyways, I used to be able to blog or blog walk often. But now I seem to be so busy with work that I hardly have the luxury of being able to jot down my thoughts. Today I'm sharing an entry which I find rather interesting. Read here.

Cara Mendapat Semangat Luar Biasa

"The Outsider's Edge" oleh Brent D Taylor menerapkan konsep mengenai mereka yang tesisih dan mereka yang gagal... lagi mudah mencapai kejayaan!

Dalam buku tersebut diberi contoh Oprah Winfrey, bagaimana daripada seorang anak yatim piatu, menjadi billionaire. Kalau nak tengok contoh terdekat, bagaimana Tan Sri Mokhtar Bukhary daripada hidup susah di rumah papan tanpa katil, menjadi seorang billionaire.

Maksudnya, mereka yang terasa diri terasing, akan mempunyai semangat yang luar biasa untuk berjuang mencapai kejayaan. Dari segi motivasi, mereka yang gagal, terbuang, tersisih daripada keramaian akan mempunyai satu motivasi yang hebat untuk keluar dari kepompong kesusahan dan kemiskinan.

Dari perkataan "Outsider" menunjukkan mereka yang "di luar"...

Jadi di situ lah kita dapat lihat juga, mengapa ada orang Indonesia datang ke Malaysia jalankan perniagaan menjadi Jutawan. Bagaimana mereka yang hidup susah, tetapi diberi peluang, mencapai kejayaan yang cemerlang. Mereka yang gagal dalam perniagaan berkali-kali boleh berjaya juga akhirnya.

Kalau kita belum mencapai kejayaan cemerlang, mungkin juga kerana kita belum pernah gagal-segagal-gagalnya yang memaksa kita ke dalam keadaan Outsider's Edge untuk timbulkan semangat luar biasa!

Dalam kejayaan, semestinya ilmu adalah penting.
